"Hey Mom! Look what I found!"

In this comic book-style collection, a young boy named Arni goes on a wide variety of extraordinary adventures. Whether he’s catching mischievous flies, hatching dinosaurs to become his pets, or dressing up as a bear to work at the zoo, there is no end of excitement around each bend in his life. Arni's world is truly a wild and wacky place. His mother is oftentimes busy with work elsewhere, but the people and things her son encounters might just surprise her on a regular basis as well. Then again, at one point she even helps Arni to try and catch a ghost, leading to the stunning realization that such activities are an average day in the lives of these characters. Almost anything has the chance of happening next.

There is a dreamy quality to these stories. Sometimes, it is difficult to tell which events are meant to take place either purely in the imagination or the dreams of Arni and which ones are meant to be actual realities for the characters. However, the adventures are so fantastical that pondering those boundaries can add to their unique charm. The art style is bright, colorful, and has qualities that young readers will especially enjoy. Arni is a kindhearted boy, and the easygoing air of his mother implies she might have had similar experiences while growing up. The comic aims to make readers smile as they read about Arni’s antics, and it certainly achieves that goal. It is a fun, creative, and wholesome ride into fantasy.
