"With the war threats on earth, I prefer to have a backup."

Ultra-rich Annette Arashi runs several successful businesses, leaving her little time for romance. However, at thirty-five, she thinks she may be ready to begin a relationship that entails more than making business deals. Overworked and exhausted, she decides to take a few weeks away from her work to rest and relax. With her competent personal assistant, Miss Bell, ready to keep things afloat while she takes some much-needed time off, Annette hires the handsome dancer Nicholas DeCaprio as a dance instructor. The attraction is immediate, and the two soon begin a relationship. Nicholas is surprised to learn of Annette's work with NASA, a necessary element of fulfilling her plans for space travel. As they grow closer, Annette realizes she must include Nicholas in her unusual plans, and they find themselves embarking on the trip of a lifetime.

Part love story and part travel adventure, the book features the couple's travels to Italy, Venezuela, and beyond in a plot ripe with intrigue. The private island which Annette purchases to pursue her plans of building a ship to take her into space houses all she needs to bring her dream to fruition. The plot moves quickly as the prospect of war prompts her to establish a base on the moon in case of disaster on earth. Though the novel uses space exploration as a theme, it is the love story between Annette and Nicholas that is at the core of the work. The unexpected discovery of companionship and love drives the narrative. For readers who enjoy books of romance, this one has plenty to offer. The added element of space travel is a unique bonus.
