Catching Cold Vol 3 - Judgment
by Lem Moyé
Trafford Publishing

"The ex-CEO held her breath. She had thought about it, the complexities, the work, and the consequences for her career."

Meredith Doucette is the CEO of Triple-S Pharmaceuticals. She is still suffering from injuries she sustained during a bombing attack at her workplace. On top of that, she finds out she has sepsis, and it affects her physically and mentally. In addition, Meredith is made aware that Ascension, a drug she was against, was approved by the FDA. These proceedings happened behind her back when she was at the hospital. The acting CEO replacing Meredith signed off on it. Meredith does not trust this drug, although it is supposed to prevent autism in children. She does not think Ascension is safe. Meredith decides to resign from her position after this betrayal. Throughout this journey, she will fight to remove Ascension from the market by any means necessary.

In her work, Moyé tackles the greediness of pharmaceutical companies and how far they will go to make money. The author gives each character a unique voice that makes them stand out. The dialogue feels authentic and gives an idea of the characters' personalities. For instance, Meredith is described as a hard-working and determined woman who is ready to bring down Triple-S Pharmaceuticals. She is not afraid to make sacrifices to achieve her goals. Throughout the story, the author explores how pharmaceutical companies are willing to expose the public to a drug that could be potentially dangerous. They will do anything to get a drug approved and flourish from it. They do not consider how it might be deadly to the public. The book also addresses how fighting for what is right is worth it and the courage it takes for whistleblowers to expose dishonest players. Readers will likely appreciate this book because of its message.
