A war has been raging for several millenniums between the forces of darkness and light. The battlegrounds may change along with a few of the faces, but the desire for dominance and the hatred between the factions remain constant. Dean Jurgens is an intelligence operative working in South America, leading a team of agents on a clandestine operation. Dean is protective of his team, occasionally to his detriment. The tragedy of losing an agent sends him into a tailspin. However, Dean knows the enemy won’t rest until his team is dead, so he must think fast. A plan is put into place where certain law enforcement officers are brought into the intelligence gathering fold but in a revolutionary sort of way. By turning select people into doppelgangers of high-profile targets, Dean and his allies take the war to another level.
The story commences in ancient times, where an epic clash is about to unfold in an arid desert. The stage for a lengthy confrontation between warring parties is set. The tale presented by the author ushers in many diverse characters, from seasoned agent Dean Jurgens to newly christened CIA agent Chelsea Miller, fighting the malevolent forces represented by the Cats family and its associates. The approach the protagonists take to saving democracy from the clutches of evil is unique. The story’s action is fast-paced but is occasionally hobbled by the random transitions in scenes, often with no segue. Also, the number of characters introduced in one chapter proves to be overwhelming at times. Still, the author’s work is ambitious in scope and illustrates definite promise.
