Though there are countless leadership archetypes ranging from positional, role-based leadership to the more extreme dictatorial leadership, Burke's work revolves around instilling selfless, unconditional service that harnesses the potential to embody the ultimate leader of grace, Jesus Christ. Undoubtedly, leadership has evolved and been misconstrued to varying degrees as self-serving. However, the author seeks to eradicate this mindset by pairing scripture and the Bible to reinvigorate a modern society for whom the well of self-awareness and reflection is running dry.

The perception, quite naturally, is that only individuals in prestigious positions of the upper echelon can craft a meaningful leadership book. Burke debunks this theory from the onset with a simple, yet salient observation: there are thousands upon thousands of texts on leadership, yet very few are truly moving forward or becoming unstuck. En route to building a strong sense of self, a strong leader is adept at identifying when and with whom to use which leadership style. Interestingly, Burke employs the framework of God using the reader to help others achieve God's will, thereby illustrating the interconnectedness of humanity and opening the door to critical concepts such as mental weakness and willpower.

At the end of each chapter, Burke delivers a concise, yet informative chapter recap in conjunction with a self-reflection interactive exercise that ensures audiences are retaining the message being shared. Whether it's through these end-of-chapter insights, timely acronyms like TACK, or a litany of Venn diagrams and tables (the Figure 3 Character Continuum chart being most prominent), Burke is determined to get through to his audience and inspire all types of learners. Above all else, the author has an innate sense of what the readers need and how they will best connect with his work. This is achieved through transparency and grace, resulting in a meaningful read.
