"Looking back now, I understand that God was never late. He was never absent. And He was never uncertain about what He was doing."

Author Timchuk combines vivid memories of a dynamic, dramatic life with a spiritual foundation that consistently reflects his Christian faith. His deep spiritual principles were developed through a multitude of inspiring, intriguing, and uplifting episodes counterbalanced with many extremely troubling situations. He was born in the USSR, the son of devoutly religious parents, struggling together in an atmosphere of physical deprivation and societal pressures. His early realization of the trials he would face began when, upon starting school, his teacher intended to attach a required star-shaped pin depicting Lenin to his clothing. He declined the pin. That brave decision led to low grades, even though he was an excellent student, and to disdain and physical attacks from classmates. Remarkably, this worldly setback served to strengthen the youngster's ideals: "With every insult, my faith grew stronger."

Launching a template that would mark the rhythm of his progress from that time forward, he often prayed for his fellow students and for specific occurrences that produced immediate results, such as his becoming the leader of a youth revival at his church. Gradually, he would assume the role of preacher. When he turned eighteen, service in the USSR military was a requirement, and his stated refusal to take a military oath or bear arms threatened an exile to Siberia. But once again, circumstances turned his way, allowing him to serve with honor. His determination to fulfill his duty while maintaining his religious principles led to further remarkable events and unspoken respect from fellow soldiers and some officers. In significant, clandestine situations, God guided him to communicate with fellow Christian recruits.

During his military years, he would meet his future wife. After their marriage, they arrived in America in 1992, where he was able to fully bring to reality his inward Christian discoveries. With prayer, the couple have faced and overcome many crucial, sometimes life-threatening crises, including his wife's difficulties with the births of their children. He has continued to witness many miracles induced by persistent prayer, such as his family's rescue from a car wreck in remote wilderness, and the sudden, seemingly impossible recovery of his father from what had been diagnosed as a fatal condition. Gradually, through these miraculous examples, Timchuk has come to realize that when God opens doors, they will always remain open.

Spurred by his stirring experiences and his continued religious fervor, Timchuk worked as an engineer, supported by his prayers and faith-bound determination. His position would soon give him nationwide recognition and allow him to unite with his parents in California. Now pursuing a career as an editorial and commercial photographer, he feels certain that God will open doors for all who trust in Him. His book is enhanced with emotive family photographs, reminders of the time frame and changing settings of his unusual life journey. Timchuk has composed this vibrant memoir to share his understanding of the Christian faith with readers and anyone seeking a new, sacredly overseen pathway. Fans of religious autobiographies will undoubtedly appreciate the author's inspiring life journey.
