Sam Romero is enthralled by an exhibit he recently viewed at the Getty Museum: The Copper Scroll. Discovered in the Dead Sea in the 1950s, the scroll itself is actually made of bronze and contains a treasure map that details sixty-four locations with a description of each treasure and how to access it. Sam heads to Rome on a business trip, intrigued by thoughts of deciphering the scroll and by Rebecca, an investigative journalist he has recently met. He plans on seeing both Rebecca and his mother, Dawn, on his trip. When Sam meets the poet, Solomon, on the plane, he finds himself also contemplating the spiritual. Sam's trip, however, takes a dangerous turn when he goes to Israel. Contacted by a man named Roy Griffin to help with a legal matter, he soon discovers that he is caught in the middle of a conspiracy to steal the scroll. With everyone he loves in danger, Sam must find a way to save them and the scroll.
