"Two men had tossed her over the chasm where she landed on hard ground and found herself in a dank cave, lit only by a torch on each wall."

Dr. Catarina Amador is missing. The young, brilliant Ph.D. with a degree in biomedical engineering has been kidnapped from Baltimore and taken into a Guatemalan jungle in order to develop a new drug. She works alongside others who have also been kidnapped for the same reason. Meanwhile, Roger Viceroy meets Jurgen Sandt—a former U.S senator and billionaire from a brewing company—and his former spokesperson, Kendrick Winston. They wish to lure him from the FBI into their service along with the two members of his team. Viceroy is tasked to find Sandt's missing son, Bertram, who has been declared dead. Sandt's daughter is a drug addict hooked on screed berries, a horrific and extremely addictive drug with torturing side effects that is being delivered by a drug cartel. But a secret drug is being made to mitigate the effects of the berry's addiction. Who or what will win in this battle of the good, the bad, and the ugly?
