"’It is your soul light that shines forth with love and purpose that helps passing ships find their way to safe harbor and home.’"

This short work reveals the indwelling presence of a higher source that reveals its light within each person. It explores a lighthouse in the sea that guides ships to safety with its bright beacon. Yet over the years, it becomes lonely in its isolation and forgets its purpose. Feeling sad and empty, its light begins to dim as it sinks into despair, self-doubt, pity, and fear. The lovely lighthouse begins to give up, but then it starts to dream and dream some more, with visions of its past through hearing and seeing stories that are brought by the Light Keeper. The Light Keeper answers questions regarding purpose, paying attention, being of service, and the life assignment of the lighthouse, revealing four guidelines regarding the lighthouse in order for it to continue to shine in the dark for itself and others.

Beautifully written with exquisite art, this tale is a metaphor for life. The writing demonstrates a deep relationship with the soul of the story and the soul of the universe, for it examines the heart of the lighthouse, its Keeper, and the purpose that all people have in life. It reveals that even in the darkest time, there is still a pervading light. The four guidelines help to summarize the story regarding the light of the truth, the windows to help one clean what needs to be cleaned, the importance of accepting one’s life assignment, and the message that the light lives within a person and is the eternal soul. It delightfully describes how there is no separation in life from all that exists on both immanent and transpersonal levels. This may be a quick read, but it is one that needs to be slowly savored.
