"The Recycler is off to save the day again!"

This fully illustrated story relates the adventure of The Playland Kids, a group of friends commissioned to install a playground made from recycled parts at The Playland Store for its grand opening the following day. Things get rough when they encounter difficulties with their vehicle, the Playland Mobile, but they reach out to their friend, Marcus Toussaint, otherwise known as “The Recycler,” who comes to their rescue in his jet mobile. Thanks to their teamwork, everything works out in the end.

Instructions follow the main story that encourage children to be heroes by recycling. They helpfully highlight which materials are recyclable and what they can be turned into to help the environment. There are also a few fun, connect-the-dot activities for children to enjoy.

Teaching children the importance of recycling is always a worthwhile pursuit, and this story proceeds to do so in an entertaining way. This adventure of The Playland Kids feels as if it could be the first of many, The way recyclable materials can find new purposes and help the community gets exemplified to good effect. The Recycler is also a positive role model with his enthusiasm as a recycling expert. In addition, the section dedicated to showing what material can and cannot be recycled is a good point of reference for children and could be used as a teaching tool in classrooms. It could even instill a lifelong love of the practice. As such, this story makes a good read for parents and teachers who want to introduce children to recycling.
