In this far-reaching account of an inner journey, author Slater deftly melds memoir, mysticism, and a search for deepest truths. Living in a cramped, noisy apartment building, battling physical ailments and painful recollections of childhood abuse, she is contacted by angelic beings who will endow her with understanding and acceptance, helping her rise above her earth-bound traumas through vast, universal vision.
In the midst of post-viral syndrome and battling economic limitations, she meets an ethereal being, Jeremiah, who proclaims that she is special and can heal others. She is introduced to persona and pathways to make that revelation real to her. Primary among these is Madeleine, with whom she explores her earliest, even pre-birth, memories, and her doubts and fears about the seeming dominance of masculine beings. She will meet Creator, or God, who explains and ameliorates many of her distresses through the projection and protection of dazzling white light. A guide named Terture shows her how to fully understand and forgive those who have treated her wrongly. She will learn of her past lives and ancestral Judean history. As her mind and soul are opened by her heavenly guides, she will be endowed with tolerance towards earth's peoples and their beliefs. Finally, she will, with angelic assistance, begin to realize her inner gifts, with the strength to declare, "I pray for peace and love in this world; it is what we all deserve."
Throughout her celestial and terrestrial occurrences, Slater, a writer of other works pertaining to the themes projected here, maintains her role as a mentor who can, by example, offer solace and encouragement to her readers. She firmly asserts that by opening themselves to such higher discoveries, others can, as she did, develop a deeper understanding of the challenges that plague so many and forge a fresh, upward trajectory.
