Psychotherapist Morrin makes a compelling argument for the efficacy of past life regression therapy in this volume devoted to the exploration of psychological trauma that originates beyond a patient’s present lifetime. Her observation that conventional psychotherapy may go on for years without providing resolution contrasts with the rapid progress made by her clients whom she treated with hypnosis in past life regressions. “Hypnotism,” Morrin writes, “allows the client to observe, re-experience, and understand prior events in their spirit’s history in a safe, secure environment.” In this sense, past life regressions resemble the deeply felt examinations of childhood trauma that conventional psychotherapy often addresses, except that there is a marked multi-dimensional experience of release when discovering the origin of trauma in past lives and what Morrin refers to as “life between lives,” in which clients engage with a spirit guide to ask questions.
Morrin outlines the process of past life regression in clear commentary with fascinating case histories as illustrations. Through this process, the patient engages more completely and comprehensively with their “karmic script”—the interplay of cause and effect, action and reaction spurred by the life choices made while moving from one life to the next. The tone of this book is helpful and hopeful, without the judgment and guilt that sometimes vexes patients in conventional psychotherapy since the bigger picture of humanity’s full spiritual nature is directly accessed rather than perceiving that the source of conflict resides solely with the patient in their present life. Well-written and informative, Morrin’s book is a solid addition to its genre.
