A fight ensues, followed later by a jumping. Before long, Omar is trying to find help for his friend on campus while Mr. Justice seeks to finish the job, leading Omar to jump from three stories and permanently ruin his ankle and his shot at professional baseball. Enter Brandon Michaels, a personal injury lawyer who lands Omar’s case. Together, they try to salvage some kind of hope in the young man’s life.
Courtroom drama is always a good formula for unfolding a story along with the developments of the case, keeping readers on their toes and waiting for the big reveal at the end. This book honors that tradition, making sure to include plenty of memorable characters like the affable Brandon, whose penchant for fishing and women makes him a far cry from rigid fictional lawyers only concerned with truth and justice. Omar’s fall from the heights of athleticism to the pain of rehab and a life forever changed is something anyone can relate to, giving readers someone they can root for and hope to see succeed. The iconic scenes and sights of Florida provide added depth and color that give the settings a strong personality of their own. Readers who love to draw out the suspense and see if they can guess the ending are in for a truly special surprise with this story.
