"The desire for fulfillment in our lives is our soul’s way of seeking to express and unfold who we truly are."

The author has written much more than just a book; it is a guide, a roadmap for finding the latent power and purpose residing within—ultimately leading to a quality life of peace, love, and happiness. Rather than preach, Li diligently structures every chapter with a daily journaling and meditation section that is tailored to a topic, whether that is exploring free will, aligning to our physical, emotional, and mental bodies, or negotiating between the needs and fears of the ego and the energies of the universe.

Perhaps the most intriguing element of the guide is Li’s description of the soul’s journey. From being able to choose the family that the soul is born into, to powerful discussions pertaining to the law of attraction and letting go, her book unquestionably challenges the way one thinks. It allows the individual to glimpse beyond the material world and focus on the transcendental universe where the souls and spirits reside. Beginning with a contract that requires the reader to commit to at least 22 weeks of this way of life, Li strives to keep her audience accountable.

Many philosophies that originated in Asia, particularly China and India, seem to influence the direction of the book and have the potential to reveal a universe in which the soul, not the body, is in control. Regardless of one’s beliefs, Li’s book is a well-written, thought-provoking request for people to detach, even for a minute, from the daily chaos and reflect on their being and higher purpose in life. It is an intriguing read and should be embraced to varying degrees by all.
