Building Better Learners

"Every human tissue and every human function has a time of initiation, a period of development, and a period of functioning after being 'turned on,' then a period of decline and, finally, the end of the function or the tissue, or death."

This book is a child education resource based on the teachings, research and beliefs of Ed Snapp, a physical therapist who developed an educational program he titled Chronologically Controlled Developmental Education (CCDE). The program is based on the belief that sensory-motor development and subsequent learning begin at conception and are stored throughout development as memories within each person's genetic code. He theorized that if uterine development was uninterrupted, a newborn would be subliminally equipped with a wealth of knowledge to advance their subsequent development. The seven educators responsible for this compilation of educational instruction believe that its utilization can reset human learning negating any interruption that may have occurred during initial development.

The book begins with a description of genetic memory then explains how each series of developmental milestones build on the previous. It also outlines how a void of one of the milestones can directly affect mastery of the other and explains how to reset the void with basic sensory-motor development carried out in a controlled environment. The complex text is intended for parents and required them to execute such things as deep pressure stimulation and rotation and sequencing of extremities. Going beyond learning to crawl or walk, the book is also applicable for older children as it describes Snapp's methods for teaching the mastery of reading, writing, spelling and math. While parents may find this text unconventional, it is based on over 35 years of research and claims that by following the learning chronologies outlined therein, parents can expect a 90% mastery level of associated subjects by their children.
