A Cheater's Promise by Maurice Derrick Geter Black Line Publishing
book review by Dylan Ward
"...but I always found a way back into her heart withh the promise of me not talking to or seeing another female."
From a young age, Damien White is immediately drawn into a world of beautiful women and the men who desire them. As he follows in the footsteps of his hustler father, Damien pursues his personal quest to be with a beautiful woman–and just one is never enough. But as Damien matures to adulthood, still firm in the belief that being with more than one woman is like a badge of honor, he soon discovers that every action has a consequence. With promise after promise, woman after woman, Damien walks a fine line while attempting to be faithful for so long before he succumbs to his clever, deceitful, and sometimes dangerous ways as a player again. But each new relationship teaches Damien a little more about himself and the consequences of always being a cheater. And when he finds the perfect woman a surprising revelation forces him to re-evaluate everything he thought he knew.
Geter unabashedly gives us a flawed character in a brutally honest way in his first adult fiction novel. Though we may love or hate Damien White, one may even appreciate and understand how deep down he knows he should be faithful, but he is only human. Damien simply wants to enjoy the only life he has and he means to live it fully. Written in first person narrative, Geter easily pulls the reader into Damien's world, vividly revealing each of his wild and sex-driven encounters. You might even be surprised at what you learn about yourself while reading this novel.
