"The fight within this prisoner between evil and good is so strong it is like watching two people in a ring fighting till death."
Generations ago, the Zaretrons, a lineage of warriors, had been fated to destroy the Eviltrons. They passed down scrolls which prophesized about the war and the necessary martial skills and discipline needed in order to defeat them when the time came to pass. It begins with a missing scroll, a mother who was assumed to be dead, and a mysterious prisoner who could possibly turn the tide of war in favor of the Eviltrons. In the middle of the chaos and confusion is Matt Zortron, who opens a scroll and sees his name written in the prophecy, although his role is unknown. He begins his own adventure in search of the missing scroll in order to understand the part he must play.
Nere's novel is young adult science-fiction that will interest those who are also fans of George Lucas' Star Wars trilogy. The Eviltrons appear to be distant cousins of the Sith. They are a group that betrayed their masters and lost themselves to their negative emotions, thus transforming them into hideous creatures. There is action and mysteries galore in this book. While the concept of the story is engaging, it suffers from a multitude of style errors, often leaving the reader confused, and the need to make the characters more dynamic and the plot immersive.
