"The other people in this life may not believe me, but I am a wizard."

This short, magical story revolves around Winter, who has decided he wants to start a band. However, he needs a name for it. The story progresses by the examination of his daily life in his small cottage surrounded by nature, his herbs and crystals, and his magic. Using chants to help with his spiritual connection, he begins to write lyrics and music. Taking a trip into town, he goes to listen to a band, which further inspires him to work more on his music. Fate reveals itself when he is asked to sing with this band. He meets up with a witch, Lucinda, whom he knows from the thrift and pagan shop. He sees the goodness in her as well as their connection on a spiritual level. She influences him to make a major life decision, which results in the connection with Beltane, where the spring reaches its peak, and one feels at peace.

The book’s description of the beauty of nature is beautiful in itself, as the reader will feel encircled and enriched through such words. The relationship between wizard and witch reveals not only their connection to each other and the earth but also the power of a higher connection. Although the dialogue seems stilted at times, and some additional editing would have enhanced the story’s readability, the author’s tale may still be an engaging read for some, especially with its focus on the positives in life. Additionally, while children, who have an innate sense of magic and fantasy, appear to be the target audience, the use of occasional profanity in the text may be problematic for some parents. However, Aramesh reveals the joy of life throughout the narrative, and the ending is sweet.
