Dive In Face First, It's a Wild Life

"We search for so many things in life—love, belonging, a sense of self-worth, the strength to overcome our fears, and sometimes just the elusive happiness. As we struggle to find what we need in life, we forget to embrace the journey. Try to start each day as a new beginning and imagine the possibilities."

Right from the beginning when Harvey (a blue heron) is hatching and full of fear, you will be hooked. Children can expect a wild but enlightened ride into this enchanting and morally correct story. Dive in Face First covers nearly every experience that a child might face from the fear of the unknown, to inadequacy and making friends. Issues such as trust, loneliness and compassion are also discussed. This is a place for children to find the answers, including some very enlightening but simple suggestions and some pretty wise lessons for everyone, including adults.

Along his journey, Harvey the blue heron encounters quite a few characters, all with inspiring messages or stories that motivate and teach young minds. He meets a bunny named Spike (formerly Hopper) who's family (that once cared for him) left him alone in the basement, a mother swan that speaks of bullying, a grouchy eagle, a group of stubborn but optimistic turtles who are successful because they don't give up, his "fearful friend" Randy the raccoon, and, best of all, the "cleanup crew" composed of seagulls. The characters are full of life and the dreaminess of child, and the ending will warm any heart. Beautiful illustrations accompany the text. This is a book that should be read by every child who has ever felt alone, afraid, or even insecureand every emotion in between.
