The Evil Busters Chronicles by R. J. Bavister R. J. Bavister
book review by Karolina Blaha-Black
"I am Dr. Splark; I am the one who carried out the attacks on your decadent cities. In the past eighteen hours, you have all witnessed my power."
The quote above belongs to Dr. Splark, an evil cult leader who has decided to punish the nations of the world for their wrongdoings. His plan for world domination is carried out through various attacks, such as bombing buildings in major cities around the world, unleashing a virus called Creeping Death in the Wall Street computer database, and stealing FireBlast, a new terror weapon in the form of an improved helicopter, among other things. Dr. Splark is able to do these things through his numerous connections in high places and all his followers can be identified by a symmetrical black spider tattoo on their forearm. Who will stop Dr. Splark and his evil cohorts?
Enter six teenagers—Dave Hunter, Rich Taylor, and their friends Lee, Axle, Phillip, and Chris—new recruits of ESIA Organization (Elite Special Intelligence Agency). ESIA is a secret organization operating under the moniker "Evil Busters." The boys must use all their special skills taught to them by ESIA to stop the evil which the mysterious Splark has unleashed on the world. Can they do this while led by an unstable team captain Dave Hunter, who has serious personality issues and problems with people in general?
If thrill, hard-core action, and government conspiracies are your thing, this book doesn't disappoint. Some copyedited could be used, and the book is heavy on the expletives. Otherwise, it's a good read for lovers of action, secret organizations, and government conspiracies.
