Throughout this 220-page book about the sexual lives of humans, the author tastefully explains the eternal nature of the marriage covenant relationship prescribed for Adam and Eve and their children: it is not good for man to be alone; they are no more twain (two) but one flesh; let no man put asunder. However, troubles with sex begin whenever one or both members of this covenant become impatient, believing, instead, what the culture says about not waiting and about who is allowed in a covenant relationship.
Mankind wrongly assumes itself to be the measure of all things with the right to choose. Fenelon declares that man is not the product of evolution, but rather of creation. Therefore, anybody who violates God’s sexual laws is, in effect, putting one’s life on the line. Chapter Four covers sexual perversions, including the gay lifestyle, pornography, masturbation, refusing sex with a partner, etc. The teaching here is that people who practice a deviant lifestyle defy nature. The maker of an appliance is the best source for its usage. It’s not a matter of choice, rather a principle to adhere to.
It is refreshing to see Fenelon dedicate this book to his grandfather. The reader will likely admire the kind and careful way that the author defines sex and sexual relations, including sexual perversions, almost in hushed tones, as learned at the knee of a loving and experienced grandfather. The book is well researched with seven pages of endnotes and nine pages of glossary terms. The author hopes that his book will stop the moral decline of our world by pointing out the gravity of violating God’s law.
