Joy in Learning
by Ebenezer Sowa Klufio
Trafford Publishing

"So to bed early children must go/to grow up as well as they should."

This is a collection of heartwarming poetry that will bring a smile to the faces of both parents and children as they nod their head in agreement after each page of poetry. It is an exhilarating combination of education and entertainment and will leave readers truly asking for more. In fact, length is practically the only shortcoming of this compilation; children would undoubtedly relish a few more mesmerizing scenes depicting key childhood moments, accompanied by the stunning visuals.

From learning proper etiquette at the dinner table to understanding the ever-evolving cycles of life, the author covers many universal moments of growing up. A personal favorite for the masses, the author includes a poem on the sheer joy a child experiences when his father returns home with a surprise, usually in the form of mouthwatering chocolates.

For today's children, and yesterday's as well, the then-sour memories of being forced to bed at merely 8:30PM—perhaps right during a favorite television show or a sports game—still likely sit fresh in their minds. Klufio captures this spirit with strong vivid imagery in his writing and creates the mood and sentiment through his illustration of "Going to Bed" as well. "Warm and Cozy" describes the flip side of "Going to Bed," which is the troubles of waking up. The imagery of the sun creeping through the window as sleep refuses to leave evokes tender memories of one'’s own youth. Overall, Klufio's selection of themes for his poetry resonates with all audiences. Joy in Learning is the ideal bedtime book to read to early elementary-aged children.
