What would happen if you bought your dream home and then discovered that it was haunted? How would you cope? How would you wrap your mind around such evil in your midst? This is the story of Beth, Simon, their daughter Jo, and Beth's mother, who move through their story of delight in their new home that they are refurbishing into the terrors of malevolent entities who terrorize the household. At first, the ghosts are rather benign and showed themselves through the Grey Lady and by moving things around the house. However, these entities begin to become violent and Jo spends her nights with her aunt and uncle because of her terror of sleeping in the house. Jo is eventually tested and found to be psychic and Beth is targeted by the evil presence. Various people attempt to help them in cleansing the house of evil but eventually, they resort to having an exorcism.
An interesting story, Look At Me moves through exploring family relationships, horror and healing, goodness and evil, and love and hate, along with a taste of heaven and hell on Earth. Psychic phenomenon and spiritual connections are explored in a simple manner which makes the book an easy read for both believers and non-believers of supernatural events. Because it is based on the author's relatives who have experienced psychic events in their own home, the story is more engaging as it is not just a fictional account. The chapter on exorcism is fascinating as well as frightening. Although the text contains editing errors, including run-on dialogue, the book's supernatural focus will hold the attention of even those who are skeptics.
