The Lost Heir

book review by Dylan Ward
"When Darrak saw the image portrayed in the kraylock Mionee held, his face turned a ghostly white. He closed his eyes tightly and shook his head, hoping that what he saw was simply a figment of his imagination. But when he reopened his eyes and gazed once again into the orb resting in the princess's hand, the petrifying image remained."
The battle begins in Mystandia. In the world of Dragonath, Princess Mionee is determined to inherit the throne from her father, the Grand Sorcerer Terlanan, against her brother, Prince Ipzaag. As part of her plot, she searches for and finds an ancient spell that will give her tremendous power.
On Earth, Darrak Hunter is just an ordinary college student who experiences vivid dreams of violet sunlight and "something lurking among the shadows" that makes him uneasy. When he starts to see the visions of his dreams become real, he is soon visited by Terlanan (also known as Laronem) and Darrak begins to discover his true destiny. Laronem reveals to Darrak that life on earth is in danger from a spell of black magic, cast by Princess Mionee herself. As a Dreamseer, Darrak must go to Dragonath to join Nariel, a Chosen, and Anarra, a Dreamweaver. Together, they form the trio that can fight black magic.
But Darrak's quest is a perilous one and the growing power of Princess Mionee only makes her more determined to stop them all. The journey is just beginning and Darrak and his allies discover surprising truths about themselves and the ever changing world of Dragonath.
