"You have become the Ka, a new force awakening in the universe allied with the Mu, the Wu, and the IM until the liberation of all beings."

Bodhi and his Quaisha (Quantum Artificial Intelligence Synthetic Humanoid Android) emerge from a wormhole into a completely unknown galaxy in their "space-tug." Not knowing where they are in time or space, the two come upon a planet in an environmental crisis. Their advanced quantum computer technology allows them to intervene and overthrow the ruling power elite who are the cause of the planet's ecological devastation. They help remove this power elite and retrain the planet's population to live in harmony with nature, ceasing the use of fossil fuels, capitalism, classes, and to live according to an altruistic code of peaceful co-existence. Bodhi, having been abandoned at a monastery on his homeworld of Mother, is now on a mission to bring enlightenment and liberation to all beings. Quaisha has recently become self-aware, is in love with Bodhi, and wants to be called Haley. Bodhi eventually meets several attractive young girls and, with Haley's computer-fast machinations, is soon married to three girls at once.

There is a lot of worldbuilding in this science fiction novel that is difficult to summarize adequately. The plot follows this pattern of an ever-growing roster of characters accompanying Bodhi in conquering and liberating planets from galactic imperialism while making love, practicing martial arts, and a type of sexual and tantric-based spiritual practice. The theme is one of fighting for the freedom of all sentient beings. The characters are well developed in the first half, with their relationships given further exposition in the mostly space-battle-oriented second half. In this half military and half philosophical science fiction novel, the plot moves along rather briskly. The technical jargon of computerized weaponry and tactics are well woven into the action. Overall, it is a thought-provoking and imaginative work.
