Lost in Time: Trapped in a Prehistoric World
by Dan Arthur Busby
Xlibris

"His thoughts were interrupted by a humming sound, indicating the mechanism was in action.... He felt a strong wind at his back, followed by the collapse of the floor."

Dropped off in a prehistoric era when dinosaurs ruled the earth, time travel expert and wrongfully convicted murderer Jimmy Brooks’ fate could very well be sealed by the very same technology that he spent the last several years helping to develop. Living in the year 2040 when the state controls time travel, and all criminals sentenced to life are banished to the Cretaceous Period, Jimmy is dumped from the portal with only a gun and limited ammo to defend himself, surrounded by large beasts who want nothing more than to make him their next meal. Soon joined by two time-traveling companions, the three men embark on a remarkable journey, along the way encountering predators from all time periods, native tribes, and flying people, a situation which puts their lives in danger with every trip.

Transporting readers back and forth through billions of years seamlessly, the author delivers a hidden history lesson while questioning just what can be accomplished when humans are stripped of all modern resources and are pushed to their limits for survival. By exploring the power of teamwork and just how much innovation can be bred under pressure, Busby focuses on the lessons that are learned and the advantages that can be gained during times of hardship. The book’s underlying message seems to be that, when given few options, you might just surprise yourself with how much you can achieve with your back against the wall. However, you may never know unless you are open to new adventures, no matter how or where they may originate.
