"...They had no other choice but to kill him."
Private Investigator Jeff Dixon thinks he's only digging up dirt for a high-profile divorce case. That's before he finds himself knee deep in organized crime, corrupt senators, and dirty cops. Though it isn't unusual to uncover the deceit and emotional abuse people heap on each other, when it involves being among the targets for murder, Jeff is beyond understanding—or acceptance.
The brightest spot in his life appears in the form of beautiful, sexy, intelligent Rachel Waters, a woman who fills an empty hole in Jeff's life. With her caring nature and shared passion, he's immediately hooked. But is she as innocent as she appears? What is behind Rachel's connection with the very men Jeff is being threatened by? Is she, as he feels, truly the woman who will bless his life forever? Has she conveniently entered the picture to set a trap Jeff cannot be allowed to survive? Or, could it be that love caught them both in a snare they'll find hard to escape?
Terry Robinson writes with the assurance of a former law enforcement agent and a son of the South (even if adopted). Through his picturesque Southern settings and his fully developed characters, he shows his ability to keep the reader turning pages. The author drops just enough bread-crumb clues to encourage a continued search for the bad guy/girl. The ending creates a bombshell filled with action and surprise, well worth waiting for. Readers should definitely look forward to more mysterious adventures from this author.
