"I yelled once, then again louder, while I ran the few steps to the body hanging from an exposed beam in the ceiling."

In his latest adventure, retired Air Force Special Agent Jim West heads to a hunting lodge in northern New Mexico to help distract a grieving friend. When his friend doesn't show, it becomes only the first in a series of grave problems for Jim. A company hunting retreat turns morbid when the company's president is murdered. In an instant, a peaceful vacation is turned into a tense waiting game where every guest and employee is a suspect. Just like in his past, Jim finds himself swept up in the investigation and determined to find the murderer before anyone else becomes a victim. An old unsolved murder involving a guest at the lodge could be the key to solving the current one, but can Jim West figure it out before it’s too late?

This story is a classic "Whodunit" that hooks the reader early and has them turning the pages long into the night to reach the conclusion. There is strong character development paced well throughout the book, casting enough doubt on the good guys and establishing an alibi for the more likely suspects. Peppered throughout that are scenes of intense action that will keep readers guessing and glued to the pages. Existing fans of Jim West's exploits will be happy to read another exciting tale in his saga, while those just getting to know the character will be delighted to go back through his earlier adventures. Any reader in the market for a classic mystery will be satisfied trying to figure out the twists in this book.
