"Decisions or events in youth oft – times have lifetime consequences."
A plane goes down deep in the African wilderness. Dickson Straight and Luther Locke, two young men with a flair for adventure, volunteer for the daring search and rescue mission. With a faded treasure map in their pocket, they set off to find the pilot and the plane's precious cargo that was filled with much needed missionary medical supplies and an eagerly anticipated mining payroll. Along the way, they meet up with a beautiful young girl, her faithful mule, and a resourceful young native boy. Adventure and danger lurk in every corner. Natives, pygmies, and slave runners manage to capture the group. There are encounters with hippos, crocodiles, baboons, army ants, and quicksand. As if the search and rescue mission is not daring enough, mysterious strangers seem to be stalking the group. It turns out that the treasure map is real and has biblical implications. Dickson and his team are determined to find the treasure, but the adventure doesn't end there. They must sail with some shady characters to return their find back to the Holy Land.
Pansing has created a fast-paced adventure tale perfect for readers of any age. His characters are engaging, exhibiting the timeless values of bravery, friendship, honor, and courtesy. An action-packed story line, with a few twists along the way, keeps readers engaged and turning those pages. Pansing has been able to successfully craft a story without the gratuitous violence and poor moral fortitude found in so many of today's novels. It's a refreshing and welcome change.
