Shake 'Em Up &
They All Fall Out the Same
by Arnitia Walker Trafford Publishing

"We may have to sift through some frogs until we find the one who most resembles a prince. Know that when you do find him, he will have a flaw or two and he may possess more than one of the characteristics listed in this book."

Arnitia Walker's Shake'Em Up & They All Fall Out the Same is a fun little guide to bad men and keepers for the weary dating woman. It's a perfect gift for someone just divorced, as they may recognize more characters than a young woman just starting out, but Walker's playful language and thorough survey covers so much ground, every woman will enjoy it.

Presented in a simple format, Walker's little book of men" serves up memorable metaphors. Cheater "couldn't be faithful if he was sitting in church." Unemployed "would rather go blind than get a real job." Likewise, "If you have never seen him in the daylight hours and he is not a vampire" you're dating "Booty Call."

But it's not all bad news. Walker also describes faithful, professional, god-fearing men, family men, good men. Men like "Postman" who delivers. "[A]nd no," writes Walker, "I'm not talking about the mail."

Walker's a licensed social worker, and she isn't afraid to call out the women for enabling bad behavior. Walker asks, "Why is it that collecting your money while you're together is not important?"

Fun, cautionary, silly, and serious, this book touches on something very germane to today's world where people make quick connections over the Internet; that is, there are stripes on every tiger. While Walker's descriptions may be amusing or obvious, they also reinforce personal responsibility and that women should recognize what they're getting into. And for every hunt, it helps to have a guide.
