"Rebecca felt her family didn't love her and she accepted it."
Even as a very young child, Robert and Rachel Finley knew that there was something terribly wrong with their daughter Angelica. By the time she had reached her fourth birthday, she had already tried to kill them at least once. Devoted to her as they were, the Finley's hoped that Angelica would outgrow her vicious tendencies and become a normal, healthy girl.
Sadly, this is not meant to be. When the Finley's announce that they are about to have a second child, Angelica tries to burn them alive in their beds. The birth of their daughter Rebecca brings a further reign of terror and the parents misguidedly diced that to protect themselves and their children by continuing to focus all their attention on Angelica and not showing their newest child any love.
Rebecca Finley survives a life filled with violence attacks from her sister and bereft of love from her parents by focusing on books and studies. A small group of friends and neighbors, known as the Save Rebecca Group, offer the love and support she cannot find at home. Eventually, due to her genius, determination, and devotion to God, Rebecca becomes a successful, world-renowned cardiologist. However, even when she moves away and meets and marries the man of her dreams, Rebecca is not free from Angelica's jealous fury. The evil sister destroys Rebecca's marriage and tears up her family. It seems that she will stop at nothing to ruin Rebecca's life.
This novel is a moving exploration of a family wrenched apart by vengeful sociopath who hurts and kills on a whim; who's cruelty and lack of emotion will shock you to the core. Through each riveting chapter the tension mounts to reach a final, shocking crescendo, but will Angelica succeed, or will Rebecca's faith in God and the support of her friends ultimately prevail?
