"I assure you, you will be tested by one or more of the legion of darkness as to whether you understand and stand upon God’s Word."

God's Word is "living, powerful, sharp, and applies from one era to the next." That is what Poka, a prophet, came to tell three men from the local church in Okeechobee, Florida. Daniel noticed the mysterious, old man crying during their church service and offered him a ride when they left. Poka requested to speak also with Daniel's longtime friends, Skeeter and Hoss (the pastor). These believers had been praying about times of revival their relatives witnessed. Why was it lacking now?

Poka somehow knew personal things about folk in this small town. Clearly, a prophet was in their midst. The three men waited to hear what he would say, especially about what the enemy of souls had done to undermine revival. Noting that God's people no longer believe what they read from the Bible, Poka stated, "No wonder you seldom attend services, no wonder I weep." Like a good teacher, Poka began to ask questions. These were not closed questions, but the kind that made people think about their answers.

The author states in the preface his reasons for writing this book of warning. Dyal's characters are real and likable. He prays they will reach readers who understand the message given and "awaken the lukewarm ones of the modern church." Useful supplementing studies guide students in further understanding nine complex subjects often debated by Christian groups, including those most contended, such as two accounts of creation, the rapture, and the tribulation. Regardless of the reader's personal opinions, the author aptly demonstrates his method for determining who is being addressed and applying what is learned in the reader's life.
