"'You couldn't possibly compete with KKG,' Davis repeated. 'And is that because of KKG's superior prestige and premiere reputation?'"

This is the story of a young, black male who has the reputation of being well-endowed, goes by the nickname of "Thump," and, in the course of his work with an investment firm, has sex with his female mentor as well as other women of wealth. T.M. Jefferson is working his way up the corporate ladder at KKG because of his talent, hard work, good looks, affable personality, and the mentorship of Henrietta Kingman, one of the owners of the firm. But "firm" is what she and her friends are looking for from Thump, and he obliges them, until he gets engaged and his fiancee demands monogamy. He's soon sabotaged for refusing to have sex with these ladies and is then fired. What comes next is a lawsuit of epic proportions regarding sexual harassment.

This is a light-hearted romp through the sexual proclivities of Thump. But along the way, the reader is treated to easy, and yet, thought-provoking discussions regarding sexual harassment, racial prejudice, and class consciousness. The characters are lovablefrom the stereotyped black man ("Once you go black, you never go back"), to the gay assistant, horny cougars, and stodgy, wealthy, white men. While the irreverence is delightful, the book makes one think about sexual harassment in a more unconventional manner: Is Thump a victim of female predators or a "whore" trying to gain financial advantage? And what would it mean if instead of being a black male, that he was a white woman filing for harassment? A quick and funny read, this book entertains and offers interesting subtexts through the courtroom drama.
