"As we learn to daily wait on the Lord in holy abandonment and trust, we will in turn realize a daily resurrection."
If there is one spiritual discipline that is probably difficult to fathom, it's waiting. That is, maintaining a Godly attitude while on Earth. We are in a hurried world, and most people are concerned about time, how to make use of it to the fullest, and how to multitask effectively. These are decidedly esteemed by the current generation. While multitasking is a good pursuit, it is less than best approach while waiting on God.
In Waiting on God, Price explores areas of Christian life that need to be surrendered and trusted to God. From Sabbath to death to the self-will, Price reminds readers about the principles of seedtime and harvest and labor and rest. He uses this proposition to provide a counter argument on the prevailing assumption that waiting on God is a passive activity. For Price, waiting on God is a continuous shift from passive to active activities as the Spirit pleases. Thus, waiting on God is all about being free of self-initiated acts and doing things in God's phase.
Price has repackaged the idea of dying on the self and has expressed fully how contradictory callings like zeal, spontaneity, and rest can exist in harmony. For Price, the reconciliation of these seemingly contradictory states is possible, when believers subscribe to a Spirit-led approach in dealing with their pressing needs and responsibilities. Price makes a powerful case for surrendering and waiting for God's signal. His approach is highly thought-provoking, and his points are profound. Based on extensive Biblical passages, the book will surely stimulate further discussion.
