The explorative, questioning spirit of a young child is on full display in this classic children's tale of hide and seek. From the moment she awakens, Cassia, like the energizer bunny, chases after her cat. She races after kitty down the stairs, finding her under the chair, beneath the couch, or in a box. When she gets close, kitty eludes her and they start the game all over again. Though the children's story is simplistic in nature, it will resonate with many kids who have pets. Pets, after all, are no less than a sibling for a four or five-year-old. The friendship between the two is undoubtedly refreshing, and only enhanced by the creative illustrations portraying the duo in action.
Where is Kitty? will help young readers develop both their reading skills and imagination, while finding entertainment in the game between Cassia and kitty. A child's mind is a blank slate, and their curiosity is piqued by anything and everything. Cassia, for example, spends day after day running around with her cat, trying to uncover all the different hiding spots. In Cassia, the author depicts a child's exuberance, or excitement when receiving a new toy, pet, or anything that requires exploration or investigation. Ultimately, the narrative demonstrates the unique nature of a child's mind as they learn the art of interacting. Despite it's length, the book is sure to be just as fun for the parents, who usually witness the "chase" first-hand as it will be for the child.
