"I am an angel with no wings,
Tied by an evil, demonic ring
My own sadness has caught me here
I am scared and trapped, what could be more clear."
The Wings of Imagination by Ahmed Ghanim Trafford Publishing

"I am an angel with no wings,
Tied by an evil, demonic ring
My own sadness has caught me here
I am scared and trapped, what could be more clear."
Kuwaiti poet Ahmed Ghanim writes imaginative poetry from the heart. His poems are about humanity and his spiritual beliefs, but he also talks about destructive thoughts, hope, pain, beauty of nature, and many other things that humans often experience. Ghanim's poetry is the classical, rhyming type, and the author's bio states that he started writing poetry after he was inspired by a female Kuwaiti poet whom he saw on TV, as she read her poem to the public.
This is the author's first book of English poetry. His poems flow well, and the font is easy on the eyes. There are plenty of white spaces on the page, where the reader can rest and ponder the message. Especially of note are poems "Stars are in Your Eyes," a poem about believing in one's self: Show yourself/ be who you are/ show how the stars are in your eyes/ lighter, with your confidence showing…. "Charmed Land” is about setting one's spirit free, and also "Think Twice," which is about moving on and relying on one's strength. The cover of the book goes well with the contents, as it is mostly blue and features a white bird taking flight over a dreamy landscape. This is a good book for poetry enthusiasts, for the lovers of the spiritual, and for seekers of the imagination.
