"Here's how you keep it simple and real: focus on one thing at a time; figure out what your needs are; relax and adapt; don't beat yourself up."
Stephanie S. Lalosh has written what she calls "a really simple guide to health for really busy people." Wouldn't It Be Nice If…You Could be Healthy on a Budget covers every aspect of healthy living. For those interested in the subject, this is a timely and informative book.
In the first chapter, she tackles the problem of toxicity, asserting that if we detoxify, we will see positive changes in our health. Readers will find some of her suggestions relatively easy to follow, such as castor oil, while others like coffee enemas—well.... Or they may find the reverse to be true. Understanding this, the author encourages people to choose cleansing processes that work for them.
Lalosh recommends eating as much organic food as possible but admits it can get expensive and offers practical ways to address that fact. Readers will recognize many of her recommended supplements while others might be new to them, such as Silverhydrosol or Zeolytes. She knows that people must want to exercise and should, therefore, tailor their own regimen. This may include: lifting weights, exercise videos, yoga, walking, trampolining, inversion (getting upside down)—or whatever appeals to them. "As with any endeavor," she writes, "it is imperative to be in the right state of mind to ensure success," offering suggestions on how to detoxify the mind as well as the body.
As a high school teacher, Lalosh desires to help students, parents, peers, and others to create a healthy lifestyle. In this instructive, educational book, she reaches that worthwhile goal.
